BIG ONE 2002: Qualifier 2 - Its like Jesus
Sep 30th, 2006, 8:16pm

The Table 2 results from 19.10.02 were:

Qualified:

DOG (Carol)
Exocet (Paul)
Anaconda (Anna)

Did not Qualify (position based on exit time):

7th. Mo' Money (Eddie)
9th. Yellow Flag (Tom)
10th Boy Plunger (Ian)
12th Mentalist (Nats)

Prize fund: £10.00 each - table fund £60.00
Rules: Texas Hold'em - antes double 40 mins
Starting ante: 1 and 2 Maximum ante: 4 and 8
Venue: Plunger Lakes

Table 2 is carnage with early exits and major fluctuations in fortunes.

The Mentalist makes a late entry but takes an early bath. Clearly a bit rusty, the mum to be shows impatience and pays the ultimate price. Mental game.

'I havenít played enough. The lack of commitment has shown tonight.'

The Boy Plunger lays on a superb venue with music decks, nibbles and a well used bar. Respect and thanks are due. Sadly home advantage counted for nothing. A typically verbal Grinder plunges in the shallow end with no life saver is crushed by the Anaconda.

'When the Anaconda hit me up the arse I knew it was all over.'

The Yellow Flag waves goodbye to the table. Joins his brothers in a losers huddle. Red Flag. His race to victory stopped by a secret agent, a snake and a snarling canine. Half mast and speechless.

Mo'Money takes home no money. Looked a certainty for the final tables but went all in with only minutes to the bell. The bracelet stays within these shores and the poker pirate is sunk.

'crappity smack you all'

The Exocet pulls off the biggest comeback in poker joker history. With just a single chip left (25p) he doubles up again and again to finish with a third of the chips.

Quote of the night on another miracle escape...

'Yess. Its like Jesus!'

His Bond suit and crazy cards give him a license to thrill. Takes qualification with some dignity.

The Anaconda is still a deadly snake to be handled carefully. Her bite is sudden and the venom is fatal. No antidote for the victims. Frightening consistency, speaks with forked tongue (cards can't be trusted).

The DOG is never in trouble. The venue is situated on Dog Lane and fate seems on her side. Qualifies easily and sits at the final table.
