Grinder wins big for the first time.
An afternoon game, daylight unnerved everyone. Norwich FC qualify for the playoffs and high spirits were guaranteed. Ouzo session mid-game ensures boistrous battle.
No quotes... lost along with memory in aftermath of the boozo-ouzo session.
Grinder plays a blinder to sweep the table before him. At last he wins a big stakes game playing classic fold 'em then hold 'em, as he moans about poor cards, lets the weaker players defeat each other and moving in for the kill. Without doubt the most effective grind to date as he completely melts the Professors mind. Can anyone stop him?
The Professor is drunk before taking his seat, the excitement of the football being too much for the man. Still plays his normal 'bull in a china shop' game, barging about and being vocal. Calls for a new deck to change his luck in one doldrum. Difficult to read as ever, betrays great weakness to a full table in the final one to one. Crumbles in a couple of hands to the Grinder's mind 'arsenal' (had to get that in!).
The DOG has a quiet game. Not happy with her poker name which could be read as less than complimentary! Besides, daughter of grinder has come of age and can stand on her own two paws. Still comes in third and gets valuable ranking points.
Fingers is a loser. His memories of glory are distant and this lack of success is affecting his game. Patience is lacking.. as after a run of poor cards he gambles heavy on an A7 unsuited hand. Never recovers from this damaging loss. Goes all in three times, one time not even noticing he had a straight. Shambles.
The Fox wins a number of hands but not the big pots. Chips are wittled away as she bets too many hands. Brings glamour to the table as she displays 'nails for dealing'. Beats The Real Deal yet again. The teacher is now firmly a student of the Fox.
The Dealer is dead. The man is reborn as the Real Deal. Is a victim of another tight hand as he records K4 against Fox's K4 but Professors A4 takes it. So consistantly unlucky it can't be luck! Name change is highlight of a night of what ifs for the Real Deal.

Thanks to Dog and Professor for hosting.
Congratulations to Grinder. You didn't let your theme tune grind your composure.
Good game alround I thought. Plenty of close hands and played professionally by all.
Are we all up for an offshore venue for the next game?
